AUCTION PADDLE
Even simple products offer design challenges. A university fundraising coordinator wanted one hundred Auction Paddles cut and engraved overnight. Substituting acrylic for plywood, my solution adds embedded tabs for attaching inkjet printed cards with elastic bands—eliminating engraving—and a perimeter shape for dense sheet nesting. The tool path for my laser cutter was a 2D vector graphic. I reused it to make this ray traced simulation of transparent Plexiglas paddles.
