AUCTION PADDLE
Even simple products offer challenging design problems. A university fundraising coordinator wanted one hundred serialized auction paddles cut and engraved overnight. Substituting acrylic for plywood, my solution adds embedded tabs for attaching inkjet printed cards with elastic bands, and a perimeter shape for dense sheet nesting. Needing a tool path for a CNC laser cutter, I drew a 2D vector graphic, then reused it in this 3D ray traced simulation of clear Plexiglass paddles with polished edges.
